The DSF recently hosted a brownbag seminar at the University College London, featuring presentations from key figures in the DLT space. The seminar served as a platform to showcase part of the Foundation’s own work and its collaborative efforts with academia and industry.
Speakers:
- Daniel Fozzati, DSF grantee and Co-Founder of The Building Blocks
- Carlo Campajola, DSF Senior Researcher
In a first presentation by Dr. Campajola, he focused on the formation and importance of B2B networks in the blockchain realm. Discussing the growing trend of cryptocurrency adoption and the critical role of wallet presentation in this process, he provided practical insights into the application of blockchain technology in the business-to-business sector, an area ripe with potential yet often overshadowed by consumer-focused applications.
The seminar proceeded to a detailed exploration of IOTA’s distributed acyclic graph (DAG) model, and in particular what topologies could lead to attacks of such a network structure, and implications of network security and scalability.
Following this lecture, Fozzatti presented an innovative product designed to facilitate the broader adoption of cryptocurrencies. He addressed the significant barriers currently hindering mainstream acceptance, such as usability challenges and the need for better integration with existing financial systems. Daniel’s segment highlighted the practical challenges in the cryptocurrency space and the potential solutions that could drive wider adoption.
The seminar wrapped up with discussions on the importance of creating community-based communication infrastructures for IoT devices using DLT and tackling the real-world implementation challenges of these technologies. The presentations highlighted the need for continued collaborative efforts to overcome the challenges facing these technologies and to unlock their full potential in various sectors.
In summary, the DLT Science Foundation's Seminar Brownbag was a testament to the progress and collaborative efforts in the blockchain and DLT sector. It provided valuable insights into both the theoretical underpinnings and practical applications of these groundbreaking technologies, paving the way for future innovations and wider adoption.
