Role and Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the Project’s mission, programs, and initiatives. This role requires a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for open source and a deep understanding of digital marketing, developer and community engagement, and brand management. The Marketing Manager will develop and implement developer engagement programs across both the web2 and web3 ecosystem.

The project’s primary success is measured by increased utilization of the Hedera network. Contributing factors are; new distributed application builders, new web2 and web3 developers, more engagement by the Hedera Council and growth of existing and new projects.

The DLT Science Foundation (DSF) is looking for an Open Source Marketing Manager who will have the following key responsibilities:

Marketing Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans to increase awareness and engagement with the Projects initiatives.
  • Ensure all marketing activities are segmented and aligned to the cultural differences between web2 and web3 developer communities
  • Identify target audiences and tailor marketing strategies to effectively reach and engage these groups.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and community needs to inform marketing strategies.
  • Incorporate the needs of our various ecosystem stakeholders and partners, Hedera Hashgraph LLC., and Council Members, our granting organizations and other Hedera-related communities, when building go-to-market activities and resource allocation plans.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive social media plan working with our partner Hashgraph

Content Creation and Management

  • Create and manage high-quality content across various channels, including the foundation’s website, blog, social media, newsletters, and press releases.
  • Collaborate with team members and community contributors to generate relevant and engaging content.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication materials.

Digital Marketing

  • Oversee the Projects marketing efforts, including SEO, SEM, email marketing, and social media campaigns.
  • Analyze and report on the performance of digital marketing campaigns, using data to optimize and improve results.
  • Manage the foundation’s social media presence, engaging with the community and growing the foundation’s online following.

Event Promotion

  • Develop and execute marketing plans for events, conferences, webinars, and other community activities.
  • Collaborate with event organizers to create promotional materials and strategies to drive attendance and participation.
  • Manage event-related communications, including pre-event promotion, on-site engagement, and post-event follow-up.

Partnerships and Collaboration

  • Build and maintain relationships with media partners, influencers, and other stakeholders to enhance the foundation’s visibility and reach.
  • Work with sponsors and partners to develop co-branded marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for collaboration with other organizations and community groups.

Brand Management

  • Ensure the foundation’s brand is consistently represented across all marketing and communication materials.
  • Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure a cohesive and professional image.
  • Monitor public perception of the foundation’s brand and take proactive steps to address any issues.

Skill requirements

The ideal applicant will be characterised by:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years experience in marketing to the software developer community. Strong preference will be given to any combination of open source, web2 and/or web3 or enterprise developers
  • Proven experience supporting world-class developer and user experiences.
  • Experience with digital marketing tools and platforms, including social media management, email marketing, and analytics.
