Caterina Rindi: An Advocate for Decentralisation and Open-Source Technologies

Rindi has been involved in the peer-to-peer, blockchain, and open-source ecosystem since 2013, when she attended her first bitcoin Meetup in San Francisco. In May 2014, she joined blockchain startup Swarm as the Community Manager, traveling Europe & the US educating audiences on blockchain technology. Her passion for education and community building has led her to speak at numerous events and conferences, including All Things Open, TEDxGhent, SXSW, Institute for the Future, University of Tokyo, Health 2.0, Inside Bitcoins, OuiShare Fest, and Stanford University.

Currently, Rindi serves as the Director of Open Source Community & Developer Relations at G-Research Open Source and runs her consulting firm, Rindi Consulting, where she lends her expertise to start-ups, foundations, and corporate clients in industries spanning fintech, P2P collaborative economies, consumer products, governance, academia, and healthcare. Her work focuses on helping organisations tap into the advantages of decentralisation and open-source technologies.

Rindi's contributions to the industry have been recognised, and she was invited to join the Advisory Board of the DLT Science Foundation (DSF). As an early adopter and educator in the field, she hopes to bring her perspective to the foundation, particularly as a woman in the industry.

Looking forward, Rindi sees the role of DLT in the next 5-10 years to be in its continued expansion beyond its current boundaries, with more adoption by enterprises and governments. She sees the potential for decentralised technologies to create more inclusive and fair systems, and she hopes to contribute to this vision through her work and involvement with the DSF.

Overall, Caterina Rindi's dedication to community building and education in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry has made her a valuable contributor to the field. Her work in helping organisations tap into the advantages of decentralisation and open-source technologies will undoubtedly continue to shape the industry for years to come.
