Unveiling Blockchain Governance Toolkit powered by Project Liberty Institute and Blockchaingov.

DLT Science Foundation is proud to support Project Liberty in its mission to build a global alliance for responsible technology. By bringing together technologists, academics, policymakers, civil society and citizens, Project Liberty aims to create a safer, healthier tech ecosystem. Central to its mission is the commitment to ensure individuals have agency and control over their data, a voice in the governance of digital platforms and an economic stake in their data’s value.

In collaboration with BlockchainGov, Project liberty embarked on an extensive year-long research project focusing on the governance of blockchain networks and decentralised systems, exploring ways for communities to design governance models that empower people to represent and express their voices.

After a thorough investigation into the governance dynamics of 11 leading blockchain networks and guided by 15 experts, including Dr. Paolo Tasca from the DLT Science Foundation, the Blockchain Governance Toolkit was formulated.

This toolkit aims to aid governance designers in developing robust governance systems tailored to their respective blockchain networks, considering their unique preferences, goals and contexts. Unlike a traditional technical manual, the report is structured as a cookbook which presents multiple governance solutions (recipes) with distinctive features (flavours).
